The Seventh Meetup of Sitecore User Group in Belarus: Sitecore 9, Symposium, Xconnect Demo

November 3rd was a remarkable evening for Sitecore User group in Belarus, when the group of attendees and Sitecore experts joined for a meetup to discuss Sitecore 9 and the past Symposium. The meetup was opened by Alexei Vershalovich with "Sitecore Symposium Recap".

Sitecore Meetup 7 Alexei

Alexei shared his impressions on Sitecore Symposium 2017. Symposium is not the case, where “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, this is the experience you want to share. It is the 4th Sitecore symposium that Alexei has attended, and yet, event in Las Vegas brought a lot of pleasant moments that he shared with Minsk’s community. For me it's the first symposium ever and first MVP summit. Before that I was at SUGCONs events only and shared my notes on the little differences with the audience.

The second presenter was Artsem Prashkovich with the topic: "Sitecore 9 setup, Dynamic placeholders, Forms". Artem covered step by step the process of Sitecore 9 installation and shared tricks on the new functionality. In addition, check out how to customize Sitecore 9 installation process in blogpost from Artsem.

Next presentation was "xConnect Demo and xConnect How-to-s, Marketing Automation introduction" by me, Daniil Raschupkin and my colleague Alexei Vershalovich. First of all, it’s worth noting that Alexei and I were among the first people who were Sitecore 9 Certified just before the Symposium opening. We both took part in Sitecore 9 technical preview process and were impressed by the new xConnect. The xConnect functionality has been used for the demo that Brimit showed at our booth during the Sitecore Symposium. This demo was warmly welcomed by developers and SBOS team. At the meetup we displayed the demo in details and answered multiple questions on the new functionality. If you’d like to see the demo or find out more about xConnect, ask us.

Last part of the meetup was devoted to the panel discussion, where my guests from BrainJocks and Epam and I talked about the latest Sitecore version and how it may influence us as developers.
