The customer

A global manufacturer operating across dozens of regions, with teams working in multiple languages across R&D, production, compliance, and logistics. Document translation is a routine operational need—and at this scale, routine adds up fast.

The challenge: Volume, cost, and security pulling in different directions

Manual translation couldn't keep up with the volume. Turnaround times were slow, costs were high, and there was no way to track what individual business units were spending against their budgets. The harder problem was security—some documents were confidential, others carried the highest internal classification. Sending those through standard translation services wasn't an option.

The solution: A serverless translation platform built around security and cost control

Brimit built a secure translation platform on Microsoft Azure that handles the full translation workflow—submission, processing, delivery, and cost tracking—without manual intervention.

The platform supports Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, and plain text files, with automatic language detection and bulk submission across multiple target languages in a single request. A two-minute processing pipeline runs continuously, with a cancellation window after submission for last-minute changes.

Security was designed in from the start. Documents at different classification levels are processed in completely isolated environments—separate Azure subscriptions, private endpoints with no public internet exposure, certificate-based authentication, and encryption at rest using customer-managed keys. The highest-classification environment has its own dedicated infrastructure and deployment pipeline.

Cost management is built into the interface. Business units see their spending in real time against configurable monthly budgets. Alerts go out via email and Teams when thresholds are approached. Administrators manage access and budgets from a central panel without involving IT.

The result: Thousands of documents processed monthly, costs down, security intact

  • Translation turnaround reduced by 85%—from days to hours
  • 60% cost reduction against traditional translation services
  • Thousands of documents processed monthly with no downtime
  • Complete cost transparency—surprise budget overruns eliminated
  • Highest-classification documents processed in fully isolated infrastructure
  • 70% reduction in support requests—self-service interface removed manual coordination
